Ketamine Therapy

KETAMINE THERAPY

KETAMINE FOR TREATMENT-RESISTANT DEPRESSION

Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) refers to depressive disorders, such as Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, that have not responded adequately to at least two antidepressant treatments.

Over the past 20 years, research has consistently demonstrated that low-dose ketamine, administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM), can rapidly alleviate depressive symptoms in patients whose depression has been otherwise unresponsive to conventional treatments.

KETAMINE THERAPY FOR TREATMENT-RESISTANT DEPRESSION

At Aspire Medical Group, we recognize that every patient is unique, and responses to ketamine therapy will vary.

  • Some patients may experience significant relief after a single infusion, while others may notice a gradual reduction in depressive symptoms over days or weeks.
  • Your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual symptoms, needs, and goals.
  • Once remission is achieved, maintenance treatments may be required. If appropriate, at-home ketamine therapy with oral ketamine may be prescribed for ongoing care.

OUR KETAMINE TREATMENT PROTOCOL

Ketamine treatment at Aspire Medical Group consists of an initial series of six treatments over two weeks. During this period, our team will:

  • Closely monitor your response to treatment.
  • Provide ongoing support throughout your journey.
  • Collaborate with your primary mental health provider to help you achieve your treatment goals.

Following the initial phase, our mental health specialists will follow up with you and your provider to assess your progress and determine whether maintenance infusions are necessary.

CareCredit financing is available for those who qualify.

  • What to Expect:

Here's everything you need to know about your Ketamine treatment appointment and process.

  • What to expect after submitting a referral from my primary mental health provider?

If you do not have a primary mental health provider, our psychiatric provider will complete an initial evaluation to determine if you are a candidate for ketamine therapy. Prior to the initial evaluation, you will receive initial screening packet to be completed prior to your initial evaluation.

  • When can I schedule my initial clinical interview and infusion date?

In the second phase of the screening process, you will be contacted to

schedule your initial clinical interview and potential treatment date.

  • What Should I Wear During My Ketamine Treatments?

For your comfort and ease during your ketamine treatment, we recommend

wearing comfortable, short-sleeve clothing. Since you will be reclining in an infusion chair, we need easy access to your arms for IV placement OR IM injection and blood pressure (BP) checks throughout your session.

    Seasonal Recommendations:

🩳 Warmer months: A short-sleeve shirt is ideal.

🩳 Colder months: Wear a zip-up jacket or sweater over a short-sleeve shirt so you can stay warm while still allowing access to your arms.

During your session, you can rest quietly or listen to soft music—whatever helps you feel most relaxed.

Plan to be here for about 2 hours when you are scheduled for infusions.

  • How long does each infusion treatment take?

Infusion treatments take anywhere from 45-55 minutes, with a 30-minute

    post-infusion observance period.

  • KETAMINE VS ECT UNDER DROPDOWN MENU

One of the main disorders being depression that is unresponsive to psychotherapy and antidepressant medications, also known as "Treatment Resistant Depression".

When many physicians or patients hear about or experience treatment-resistant depression (TRD), they think about resorting to Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).

But what more and more patients and clinicians are coming to discover is that Ketamine infusions are showing many promising results as the go-to therapy to treatment-resistant depression.

Following weeks of shock therapy, patients are often then placed on one to several specific antidepressant medications while transitioning from their inpatient therapy to more of an outpatient management style of oversight.
